SOUTH EAST NSW 4 CLUB DRESSAGE CHALLENGE 2019

The second round of inaugural South East NSW 4 Club Dressage Challenge will be held at the FSCDA 21 April 2019 Dressage Competition.

It is a competition for all members of Bemboka Show Society, Eurobodalla Dressage Association, Far South Coast Dressage Association and Monaro Equestrian Association.

The aim of the challenge is to encourage riders to travel to the other three Clubs increasing competition and providing opportunities to met with other dressage enthusiasts.

It is also hoped to facilitate the mentoring of local judges with higher level judges traveling to officiate at the designated events.

Points will be allocated for placings at each level with an award and prizes at the conclusion of the year to the highest aggregate scorer at each level. The Challenge tests will be the Preparatory D and the Preliminary to Medium B’s.

The first round of the 4 Club Challenge was held in February at the Monaro Equestrian Association Dressage Championship Weekend.

Lunging area, where to warm up, warm up etiquette

Hi all,

Cobargo showground is a huge space with an abundance of area to warm up before a competition. As a safety measure the FSCDA committee has designated the sand arena ( near the toilets ) as a riding only warm up area,  lunging on the sand arena is no longer allowed. A lunging area has been designated in the cattle parade arena ( the arena with the white fence opposite the back of the canteen) , we can of course still warm up on the  showground ( riding only). Around the Arena with Chris – About Bridle numbers

Hey all, been a while since I have done any blogging. I just want to talk about bridle numbers.

Did you know, it’s your responsibility to have 2 bridle numbers displayed either on your bridle ( both sides) or on your saddle cloth ( both sides), they must be easily read from the judges car, so not a little scrawled post it note  pinned to your saddle cloth, STAND OUT!  pretty basic stuff really and it makes it so much easier for gear check and Judges to read and check you off. It’s in the rules and everything, so let’s all be a bit more prepared.

1.15.5 Bridle numbers at events
• Bridle numbers are important for identification purposes and should be used at all times at an event.
• Two numbers are required to be worn when competing – one on both sides of the horse – attached to
each side of the bridle or saddlecloth and must be clearly readable.
• The bridle numbers must also be worn as described whenever the horse is being
ridden/lunged/led/grazed at an event.
• When presenting to the judge before a test, riders do not have to stop and report to the judge but
must make sure the judge has clearly seen their identification number.
